Process Poster

This time I attempt to create a digital poster to display my process of the bench project. I used this poster to describe my concept development process and present how to create this concept model. This is my first time to do this kind of poster, so it can be challenge for me to design the lay-out of the poster. I think that it is really difficult to arrange all of the sketches and picture when you want to put so many stuff on it. I hope that I can clearly deliver all my design concepts and processes to readers.

Sketchbook

This sketchbook presents how I practice my sketch skills and test different methods to show my design philosophy. In this sketch book, I used cross-hatch and prospective technique to display the shadow and value. In addition, I try to use different line directions to present the drawing and learn how to use eraser to create the negative space. Moreover, I used the light and heavy line weight to present the high contrast and the value of space. I think that it is really interesting to use variable colors and different materials to describe the texture and shape of the object. I am also glad to use my imagination and creativity to finish this sketchbook. Furthermore, I enjoy exploring and discovering the design concepts and apply different design principal in my sketches. 

Outside macro sketch

This time I try to draw four different objects and found those objects' macro view. I found four objects which has interesting texture and surface. In addition,  I try to use many color pencils in order to show the abundant colors on the plants. It is really interesting to sketch and macro view of the plant, and I think that this practice can help me to develop the ability of observation.  

Kitchen still life

This time I try to combine common kitchen items with an unexpected item. I try to use my sketch skills to present the textures, value, and volume in this drawing. Moreover, I attempt to draw the perspective view of the objects and maintain the same angle possibly. I also used color pencils to show the contrast of the color. 

Portland- Landscape

This time I used ink to draw the landscape in downtown Portland. I want to use this sketch to present the distant prospect and use variable sketch skills to finish this sketch. the drawing must be drawn based on correct relationship in size and degree. i think that it can give the effect of distance and show the view from a particular point. 

Value study using line

This time I draw two sketches on one paper in order to show the value of the space. I find a space which has one window wall, back wall, floor and ceiling. In addition, I try to draw the space in one point perspective view and use the light or heavy line weight in this sketch. In my second sketch, I use the contrast easy to display the changing of the value.  

Room to Think

This time I used different words and symbols to present my ideas about the room. In addition, it must has some connection from one word to another word. " Brainstorming" can help me to develop the initial ideas and improve my imagination. I think this process is really interesting and useful .
